Our Services
Axis provides primary care medical services that include pediatrics, adult health and womens health care. Axis also provides mental health services, dental care, acupuncture and chiropractic care. A WIC nutrition program is available for eligible women and children. Axis also provides urgent care mental health services in its innovative Axis Bridge program. Axis has been an important part of our communitys response to the COVID pandemic, and we continue to provide testing and vaccination services for all members of the community.
Our History
Axis began in 1972 as a health center for low-income children in Eastern Alameda County who had no other access to health care. Since 1972, Axis has grown to become a comprehensive health center that provides care from five sites located throughout the Tri-Valley area. In 2009, Axis received Federally-Qualified Community Health Center (FQHC) designation from the US Department of Health and Human Services. As an FQHC, Axis has earned a variety of awards for clinical achievement from the Bureau of Primary Health Care, including recognition as being in the top 10% for quality of care of all community health centers nationwide.
