About the Organization
About NorthBay Healthcare:
We Are Nonprofit, an Important Difference
NorthBay Healthcare opened its first hospital in 1959 and remains Solano County's only locally based, locally managed nonprofit healthcare organization. NorthBay Medical Center in Fairfield and NorthBay VacaValley Hospital in Vacaville are known for providing quality services.
Our hospitals offer 24-hour emergency care, intensive care, and sophisticated surgical and diagnostic services. Both have maintained accreditation from The Joint Commission.
NorthBay Healthcare is a member of the Mayo Clinic Care Network. The collaboration of Solano County's leader in health care and the world-renowned leader in medicine provides patients a care team that combines the best minds to tackle the most complex cases.
The 132-bed NorthBay Medical Center is a regional center for pregnancy and childbirth, and is proudly designated as a Baby Friendly facility. Our Newborn Intensive Care Unit provides the most sophisticated services for premature or ill newborns within 50 miles. NorthBay Heart & Vascular Center offers the only open-heart surgery center in the county. The Emergency Department is a Chest Pain Center and STEMI Receiving Center for heart attack patients and a primary stroke center. And our Level II Trauma Center was the first established in Solano County and continues to be the busiest in the area.
The NorthBay Medical Group with offices in Fairfield, Vacaville and Green Valley, includes more than 100 primary care and specialty care providers.
Our other keynote services include the NorthBay Cancer Center and the Center for Orthopedics. In 2016 NorthBay HealthSpring Fitness opened, the first medical fitness center in the county.
Our Mission: Compassionate Care, Advanced Medicine, Close to Home
NorthBay Healthcare leads the way in providing advanced medicine to the people of Solano County. Our compassion, our commitment to excellence, and the depth and breadth of our services, is a testament to our enduring commitment to the local community.
We strive to ensure that local residents remain near home for most of the health care services they'll need in their lifetimes.
About the Community
EXPLORE NORTHERN CALIFORNIA AND SOLANO COUNTY
Loving where you live is a part of loving what you do. Solano County offers affordable housing, good school systems and a close-knit, family-centered community. We are centrally located between Sacramento and San Francisco, which means easy access to the ski slopes in the Sierra Nevada, wine and food of the Napa Valley and the excitement of San Francisco and the Bay Area. Much of our staff chooses to live nearby in Solano County, enjoying competitive Bay Area wages and benefits, without a commute. Others choose to settle in larger cities to the east or west.
OUR COMMUNITIES: FAIRFIELD AND VACAVILLE
Fairfield is regarded as the mid-point between Sacramento and San Francisco. With a population of just over 100,000, it is a community in its own right. Quality, affordable housing, temperate weather and a good school system make Fairfield an attractive place for young families. Geographically, it's considered to be part of the most northern section of the Bay Area - giving us our name, NorthBay.
Twelve miles to the east, Vacaville is approximately 35 miles from Sacramento and 55 miles from San Francisco. It is slightly smaller than Fairfield, but boasts many of the same amenities, with easy access to shopping, good schools and a family-friendly environment.
