Job Description

The Pharmacy Service coordinates pharmacy and pharmacy-related activities and provides direct or indirect pharmacy coverage and/or supervision for the Tuba City Service Units. The Pharmacy fills an average of 1800 prescriptions daily with the help of all the dedicated pharmacy aides, certified pharmacy technicians, pharmacists.
TCRHCC Pharmacy serves as an integral part of a comprehensive, community based health care delivery system. Pharmacy services are patient-centered and are directed toward optimal patient care outcomes, health promotion, and disease prevention.
TCRHCC pharmacy services will:
Ensure that medications are appropriately prescribed.
Prevent the inappropriate and overuse of medications.
Increase the number of treatment successes and decrease the number of treatment failures.
Increase the appropriate use of medications to cure and prevent diseases, and to maintain good health.

NECESSARY QUALIFICATIONS
Education (Pharmacist I/II & Advanced Practice I/II):
Doctor of Pharmacy or a Bachelor of Pharmacy degree from a school recognized by the American Council of Pharmaceutical Education
Certification (Pharmacist I/II & Advanced Practice I/II):
Must have a current valid and unrestricted license to practice pharmacy in a State or Territory of the United States, or the District of Columbia and have a current valid Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
Experience:
Specialty Care Pharmacist (Advanced Practice Pharmacist I/II): 1) A minimum of two (2) years experience as a Registered Pharmacist; and 2) A minimum of one (1) year experience as a Clinical Pharmacist (Inpatient/Hospital)
Credentialing (Advanced Practice I/II):
Must become a credentialed member of the TCRHCC Pharmacy Staff
Other Skills and Abilities (Pharmacist I/II & Advanced Practice I/II):
A record of satisfactory performance in all prior and current employment as evidenced by positive employment references from previous and current employers. All employment references must address and indicate success in the following areas:
Possession of high ethical standards and no history of complaints and no prior records of substance abuse
Reliable and dependable; reports to work as scheduled without excessive absences
Maintains a positive professional attitude and demonstrates good interpersonal communication skills
Knowledge of legal dispensing practices, federal pharmacy regulations and therapeutic incompatibilities
Knowledge of sterile compounding (and USP 800 regulations) and non-sterile compounding procedures
Knowledge of drug-drug, drug-disease state, and drug-allergy incompatibilities
Knowledge of pharmacology, therapeutics of common disease states and treatment modalities, pathophysiology, and pharmacokinetics
