Geriatrics Opportunity in South Carolina
Palmetto Health-USC Medical Group, located in Columbia, SC, is currently recruiting physicians to join its Senior Primary Care practice, a division of the Department of Geriatric Services. There is also availability within Palmetto Senior Care, one of the Nations original PACE programs. Eligible candidates should be board certified in either Internal Medicine or Family Medicine and have experience working with geriatric patients and their families in an inpatient setting. There are opportunities available to work with medical students through the University of South Carolina School of Medicine although this is not a requirement.
The Senior Primary Care Practice at Palmetto Health is recognized by the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) as a Level III Patient-Centered Medical Home (PCMH), the highest possible designation. We have long prided ourselves in the level of care we are able to provide to our patients and their families. We believe excellent patient care should not only address patients' physical ailments, but also emotional and social well-being. Receiving the Level III NCQA accreditation has reinforced our belief that we are doing the right thing for our patients. This recognition sets us apart as a center of excellence at the national, state and local levels.
Senior Primary Care is proud to be part of the Palmetto Health network, which includes more than 87 primary care and multi-specialty practices. Palmetto Health has developed a progressive environment with state-of-the-art technology, including research and treatment protocols that work in conjunction with our exceptional standards in patient care. Palmetto Health is comprised of six hospitals: Palmetto Health Richland, Palmetto Health Baptist, Palmetto Health Heart Hospital, Palmetto Health Baptist Parkridge, Palmetto Health Tuomey, and Palmetto Health Childrens Hospital. Our Richland facility serves as the primary clinical site for the University of South Carolina School of Medicine.
Geographically located in the center of the state, Columbia is South Carolina's capital and home to most every amenity expected of a metropolitan area. From SEC sports to beautiful rivers and parks to shopping and dining, Columbia offers something for every age and interest. We also are located only a couple of hours from some of the most spectacular beaches and the lush Blue Ridge Mountains.
Whatever your preference in homes, you can find it here. Compared to other parts of the country, housing in Columbia is quite affordable. Older homes are nestled in downtown neighborhoods such as Shandon and Forest Acres, while newer, younger neighborhoods continue to expand in the suburban areas of Irmo, Lexington, Blythewood and along the shoreline of Lake Murray.
This is a wonderful place to live and practice medicine without the worries that come with running a practice. Employment includes a competitive salary and exceptional benefits (professional liability, health, dental, life, disability, vision and more).
Sorry, this is NOT a J1 H1 visa opportunity
