The SPECIALIZED TRAINING ASSISTANCE PROGRAM is designed for physicians to join during CIVILIAN residency and receive a monthly stipend of over $2200 per month. STRAP is an excellent opportunity that can help you pay off up to $250,000 of your student loans. In total it will pay you over $32,000 a year, in addition to what you will be paid by the residency.
No interruptions in your training. After completing your CIVILIAN residency, youll serve two years in the Army Reserve for each year or partial year you received the stipend. One weekend per month - PART TIME COMMITMENT

Doctor of medicine or doctor of osteopathy degree from an accredited U.S. school of medicine or osteopathy; foreign graduates may apply if they have a permanent certificate from the Educational Council of Foreign Medical Graduates
Current license to practice medicine in the United States, District of Columbia or Puerto Rico
Between 21 and 42 years of age
