Greenville County Detention Center is situated at the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains in beautiful downtown Greenville, SC. Our detention facility is a division of the Greenville County Department of Public Safety and provides secure confinement for adults who have been ordered to be detained by the courts. We are one of the most populous detention facilities in the state and strive to provide safe, effective, evidenced-based healthcare to this population. Our diverse multidisciplinary team comprises nurse practitioners, registered nurses, paramedics, licensed practical nurses, and certified medical assistants who provide care to the incarcerated population of Greenville County. Health services operate twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week, to provide emergency and chronic care to detained adult males and females. Our facility offers a non-dispensing pharmacy, radiology, dental, and laboratory services. Nurse practitioners conduct daily sick call visits to address acute and chronic needs. Specialty clinics are coordinated with a local hospital focusing on Family Medicine, OBGYN, Infectious Disease and Orthopedics.
