Cedar Valley Medical Specialists, P.C. (CVMS) was created by a group of 21 area physicians, all of whom were specialists with a vision of creating an independent group with a centralized administrative office where patient billing, human resources, IT, credentialing and medical records would be maintained. In 1994, the administration office was developed to help transition the independent offices into one independent group. Cedar Valley Medical Clinic, P.C. went operational on January 1, 1995. The name was changed shortly thereafter to its’ current name, Cedar Valley Medical Specialists, P.C. (CVMS). Today, CVMS has 45+ physicians and over 40 non-physicians including nurse anesthetists, nurse practitioners, optometrists, physician assistants, audiologists and physical therapists practicing within 15 different specialties. Family practice was the most recent specialty added to the group in 2017. Altogether, nearly 400 people are employed by CVMS.
