Yosemite Pathology Medical Group, Inc. (YPMG) is a private independent pathologist owned and operated surgical pathology and cytology laboratory based in Modesto, CA. YPMG provides comprehensive state of the art, reliable, and accurate diagnostic services to its physicians and major area hospitals in the Alameda, Amador, Calaveras, Contra Costa, Kern, Mariposa, Merced, San Joaquin, Solano, Stanislaus and Tuolumne counties.

YPMG offers a full spectrum of tissue pathology, cytology, and histology services, including examination of gynecologic specimens, body fluids and fine needle aspiration specimens. We also offer an extensive array of special stains and immunohistochemistry to assist in the management of oncologic and non-oncologic diseases. The laboratory is supported by highly qualified Histotechnologist, Cytotechnologist, Technicians and office staff who offer excellent service.

Comprised of thirty-two (32) Board Certified pathologists, we are a general anatomic pathology specialty practice with board certified sub specialties in dermatopathology, cytopathology, molecular pathology, and hematopathology. Services have been provided to hospitals and physicians throughout Central and Northern California since 1948.

Summary/Objective
The ideal candidate would be an experienced pathologist with 3-5 years of experience in a hospital setting and clinical lab experience or training. The candidate will be General Surgical Pathologist that is AP/CP Board Certified and accustomed to high volume. This candidate will be expected to sign-out approximately 5,000 surgical cases annually. The ideal candidate will have the ability and willingness to perform radiology adequacy assessment and engage with surgeons in the OR during frozen sections. Additionally, the ideal candidate would have experience in a Medical Directorship role. This candidate would also be a liaison between the hospital administration, medical staff, and the community of YPMG.

Duties and Responsibilities
Research diseases and causes using various equipment, methods, and technologies
Analyze tissue, cell, body fluids, and other samples
Document analyzed results; report results and variations
Compile research and information needed for further study
Conduct tests, analyze, and categorize different samples against known results
Record and document clinical manifestations in samples
Comply with all lab procedures, processes, and methodologies
Collect and analyze abnormalities


Minimum Job Requirements
CA Medical License
Board certified in Anatomic Pathology AND Clinical Pathology

Work Environment
This position operates in an office environment and involves frequent time spent at a desk using a computer and microscope.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
