Job Summary:
The Home Health Aide/Certified Nursing Assistant provides the patient with personal care assistance and home support in an effort to maintain a clean, safe environment for the elderly or convalescing patient thus allowing them to remain in their own home. Home Health Aides/Certified Nursing Assistants work in patient homes and in facilities. Home Health Aides/Certified Nursing Assistant possess the ability and willingness to interact with residents, family members, personnel, etc., under all conditions and circumstances. They regularly communicate with the medical staff, nursing personnel, and other units. Home Health Aide/Certified Nursing Assistants function under the supervision of a Registered Nurse and the Scheduling Coordinator.
Qualifications:
The qualifications are:
(1) Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively;
(2) Ability to understand both written and verbal directions and instructions;
(3) Certificate or proof of attendance and curriculum for approved training program;
(4) Successful completion (score of 85% or higher) of KeystoneCare Home Care Home Services Equivalency Testing;
(5) Possession of strong organization skills;
(6) Understanding, compassionate attitude toward the care of the sick;
(7) Ability to document actions and observations with detail and accuracy;
(8) One year home health experience preferred.
