About the Community
McAlester is located in the heart of Kiamichi Country in Southeastern Oklahoma, close to the majestic Talimena Scenic Byway and just 25 minutes from beautiful Lake Eufaula. Folks come from all around to enjoy summertime on the lake as well as the gorgeous foliage the autumn season has to offer.
McAlester Regional Health Center has recently built a new 18-bed - $14 million dollar Emergency Room. Its a busy ER and is being staffed at the present time by 3 full-time physicians, along with ER trained residents who moonlight when their schedule allows. We provide 36 hours of physician coverage 12- hour shifts Day, Mid and Night.
