About the Organization
ACHC is a federally qualified and licensed primary care health center. Our dedicated staff of employees and volunteers provide Medical, Dental and Specialty Care for our underserved communities. Our main site is locatd in Avenal, California, Kings County. We also have satellites in the nearby communities of Lemoore, Stratford and Kettleman City known as ARIA Community Health Centers.
Avenal is a small agricultural community of approximately 9,000 where the majority of the population (91%) is Hispanic/Latino. The community is located in south western Kings County, which is predominantly an agricultural area. For this reason many migrant and seasonal farm workers make Avenal their home. Our satellite sites in Stratford and Kettleman City are very simiar in make up to Avenal but with populations ranging from 1,200 - 1,700 residents. The largest community we serve is Lemoore with a population over 20,000. There are fewer farm workers in this location but there is still a great need to provide services to the low-income residents.
The majority of our services are provided in Avenal. We provide specialty services such as behavioral health, health education, case management, nutrition education, ultrasound, podiatry and psychology. Patients from other communities can also access these services by utilizing our transportation services. The services in our satellite sites are currently providing medical care only.
The communities of Avenal and Kettleman City are located along the I-5 corridor and are within an hour and a half from the ocean and within three hours of San Francisco and Los Angeles. The communities of Stratford and Lemoore are located along Highway 41 and are within 2 to 3 hours from Sequioa National Park and Yosemite National Park.
