About the Organization
BHS serves a diverse population in Berkshire County in Western Massachusetts. Berkshire Medical Center, BHS's 302-bed community teaching hospital and Level II Trauma Center, is a major teaching affiliate of the University of Massachusetts Medical School. With the latest technology and a system-wide electronic health record, BHS is the region's leading provider of comprehensive healthcare services. BHS has been successful in recruiting over 100 new physicians to the community in the last two years because of our commitment to people, programs and the most current technology, as well as our financial stability, strong administrative and physician leadership, nationally-recognized medical care, and overall quality of life.
We understand the importance of balancing work with a healthy personal lifestyle. The Berkshires, a 4-season resort community with endless cultural opportunities, offers world renowned music, art, theater, and museums, as well as year round recreational activities from skiing to kayaking. Excellent public and private schools make this an idea family location, just 2 hours from both Boston and New York City.
About the Community
Even in a region known for natural beauty and rich history, each community in Berkshire County has its own personality, not to mention its own set of attractions. Whether its dining, shopping, or cultural attractions on the itinerary or simply quiet days on the porch with few distractions, the southern, central, and northern sections of Berkshire County come together to create a slice of New England and all it provides.
