Medical Director Cancer Services

Goshen Center for Cancer Care seeks to recruit a seasoned Oncologist as Medical Director to oversee a state-of-the-art, comprehensive community cancer program. This program includes a well-established team of Medical, Surgical and Radiation Oncologists as well as an integrated team of ancillary specialists consisting of: Pulmonology, Palliative Care, Breast Surgery, Plastic Surgery and Naturopathic Medicine. In total the medical director will lead a team of 18 physicians and 8 advanced care practitioners with recruiting open for several more.

We are seeking an energetic and collaborative professional that can lead an experienced, highly trained physician group while effectively practicing in a clinic setting. This position works in a dyad model with an administrative leader and assists in developing strategic goals, building effective teams, networking to expand the programs referral base while overseeing the improvement of the programs patient care model. This role should expect to start with an 70/30 split of clinical to administrative duties that will evolve over time with increased leadership functions. The scope of leadership functions include the cancer program as well as the Retreat Womens Center. Medical Director functions include but are not limited to:

Program Development:
Actively engaged in shaping strategic planning and programmatic vision.
Serve as a leader, spokesperson, teacher, and mentor to members of the clinical care team and community, board and health system leadership.
Foster relationships with current referring providers as well as seek to grow relationships to expand capabilities and referral base of the program.
Participate in physician recruiting and onboarding to ensure the successful expansion of services and capabilities.
Work in tandem with administration to refine and initiate strategic growth.
Leadership and Quality Improvement:

Initiate quality improvement projects that focus on patient experience, safety and provider efficiency in alignment with accreditation standards and program goals. Oversee the success of strategic projects and implement tactical changes as needed.
Serve as a mentor and role model to staff providers. Ensure that providers are given opportunities for professional growth within the program.
Establish and reinforce behavior expectations, supporting open communication and collegial relationships throughout the hospital medical staff.
Serve as advisor and support EMR optimization and implementation to improve medical documentation and physician experience within the record.

Minimum Requirements:
Current board certification in specialty.
10+ years of Oncology Experience.
Experience working collaboratively with physicians and clinic administrators in a dyad leadership model.
Knowledge of regulatory and legal landscape of cancer practice as it relates to operations.
5+ years of oncology program leadership experience preferred.
Proven history of team-building and mentorship.
