Job Description
Tuba City Regional Health Care Corporation Mental Health Department is integrated with the Adolescent Alcohol and Substance Abuse Program. It provides outpatient mental health services to children, youth and adults using diagnostic interviews and treatment modalities that include individual, family and group therapy as well as psychopharmacological medications. Outreach is provided to the high schools, adult and juvenile detention center and to some of the schools in the outlying areas. To access residential or day services, adult or children, there is a collaborative working relationship with the Navajo Division of Social Services, Navajo Regional Behavioral Health Authority (Health Choice Integrated Care), the Boarding School, and the Navajo Department of Behavioral Health.
The Mental Health Department is dedicated to the wellness of individuals, their families and the community through prevention, intervention, and treatment. Our experienced staff can help adults, adolescents, and children who are in crisis or who face daily challenges with mental health disorders, depression, anxiety, stress, grief, relationship issues, anger, and trauma resolution.
Treatment is offered in the most therapeutic environment available designed to meet the individual needs and concerns of each patient. Methods of treatment may include individual therapy, group therapy, or medication management.
NECESSARY QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
Must have Masters degree in Child/Family Psychiatric Mental Health
Licensure:
Must have a valid, current and unrestricted license to practice as a Child/Family Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner in any state within the United States, District of Columbia or the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico
Must maintain continuous valid license with documentation of continuing education credits submitted to the State Board of Nursing; must adhere to the professional, ethical, and legal guidelines outlined by the individuals licensing body
Experience:
Minimum of two (2) years post-graduate clinical experience.
Minimum of one (1) year Mental Health Clinic experience
Other Skills and Abilities:
A record of satisfactory performance in all prior and current employment as evidenced by positive employment references from previous and current employers. All employment references must address and indicate success in each one of the following areas:
Positive working relationships with others
Possession of high ethical standards and no history of ethical violations
Reliable and dependable; reports to work as scheduled without excessive absences
Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills with both client and colleagues
Excellent time management and respond flexibly to changing circumstances and priorities within an agency
Knowledge and proficient use of computers is essential
