Congenital Cardiac Surgeon

Maine Medical Centers Division of Pediatric Cardiothoracic Surgery is seeking a Board Certified/ Eligible congenital cardiac surgeon to join their division of congenital heart surgery. The candidate must have completed an American Board of Thoracic Surgery certified Congenital Heart Surgery fellowship.

The congenital heart surgery program at Maine Medical Center is over 50 years old, and has become a well-established program with a full range of pediatric cardiology including comprehensive catheter-based intervention and EP as well as adult congenital. The team is completed with pediatric cardiac anesthesia, perfusion, and intensive care physician and nursing services. It is the only congenital cardiac surgery program in northern New England. Congenital cardiology and cardiac surgery services are offered within Maine Medical Center at The Barbara Bush Childrens Hospital.

The Barbara Bush Childrens Hospital is a 96-bed hospital within Maine Medical Center, a three-time Magnet designated hospital. Maine Medical Center has 637 licensed beds and is the states leading tertiary hospital and Level One Trauma Center, with a full complement of residencies and fellowships and an integral part of the Tufts University Medical School. The position involves teaching and mentoring residents and medical students from the Maine Medical Center-Tufts University School of Medicine Program. The successful candidate would have an academic appointment at Tufts University School of Medicine.
