The per diem hospitalist advanced practitioner assists in the department of Hospital Medicine to provide direct medical care to patients requiring hospitalization. They chart medical history, assess health status, diagnose any potential issues, and work with physicians and other health professionals to provide high-quality care.

Backus Hospital is a 213-bed Hospital in Norwich Connecticut with numerous off-site locations, over 300 expert physicians offering a wide range of healthcare services. The Backus Hospital Emergency Department serves more than 60,000 people per year. This community hospital has been recognized by the American College of Radiology, American College of Surgeons, Commission on Cancer, College of American Pathologists, Joint Commission, American College of Surgeons, and The National Accreditation of Breast Centers.

Qualifications:
Preferably two years experience as hospitalist and/or previous extensive experience as Nurse or PA in inpatient setting.
Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program required.
Current CT Nurse Practitioner or PA license required.
Baccalaureate Degree is required.
