Colon and Rectal Surgeon


The department of Surgery at VCU Health is actively recruiting for a full-time Board Certified/Board Eligible Colon and Rectal Surgeon for the Division of Bariatric/ GI Surgery at VCU Medical Center and affiliated campuses. VCU Medical Center, a 700 bed quaternary teaching hospital is one of the largest and busiest academic centers in Virginia.


RESPONSIBILITIES:


- Supervising residents and fellows in the practice of colon and rectal surgeryand applied anatomy and physiology
- Will develop a large practice related to inflammatory bowel disease, hindgut malignancies and pelvic floor disorders in a multi-disciplinary environment
- Will establish clinical research projects with a record of publication in refereed journals and external funding
- Develop interdisciplinary collaborations to enhance the research program in at VCU
- Will mentor both undergraduate and graduate students in their research laboratory
- Will serve on departmental and/or University committees


QUALIFICATIONS:


- Board certified or board eligible in general surgery
- Completed a fellowship in colorectal surgery
- Commitment to laboratory and/or clinical research
