Vascular Surgeon

We are seeking an Academically focused Vascular Surgeon with excellent clinical training and experience in both Open and Endovascular Surgery to join a well-established 3 surgeon University practice. The VCU Vascular Division performs all aspects of Vascular Surgery, including Fenestrated Aortic Endografting, Open Thoracoabdominal Aneurysm Repair, and Complex Thoracic Endografting. As part of VCU's Pauley Heart and Vascular Center, the Vascular Division has been a regional leader in minimally invasive Vascular Surgery including carotid stenting, lower extremity arterial reconstruction, and novel investigational techniques for the treatment of lower extremity arterial insufficiency.

The VCU Department of Surgery is actively recruiting a full-time Board Certified/Board Eligible Vascular Surgeon for the Division of Vascular Surgery at VCU Medical Center and affiliated campuses. VCU Medical Center, an 865 bed quaternary teaching hospital is Central Virginia's only Level 1 Trauma Center and Medical School, and one of the largest and busiest academic centers in the state.

- Teaching responsibilities in all areas of Vascular Surgery, with potential opportunities to assists in the multidisciplinary teaching of Vascular Fellows, General Surgery Residents, Interventional Fellows, Thoracic Surgery Fellows and Interventional Cardiology Fellows.
- Participate in clinical or basic science research relevant to the expanding field of Vascular and Endovascular Surgery
- Research in the fields of complex aortic endografting, minimally invasive treatment of critical limb ischemia, and Vascular Surgery Outcomes
- Develop interdisciplinary collaborations within VCUs Cardiovascular arena, to achieve research goals.
- A record of publication in refereed journals is expected
- Will serve on University, Health System and Departmental committees as requested by leadership
- Will assist with the recruitment training, and placement of Residents and Fellows among the varied specialties outlined above
- Treatment of occlusive disease with promising investigational devices, as well as outcomes assessment in Vascular Surgery.
- Clinical responsibility will be in the care of the Vascular and Endovascular Surgical patients on the MCV campus of VCU, as well as community outreach satellite locations including Baird Vascular Institute, Stony Point, and Community Memorial Hospital in South Hill
- Will be responsible for the development of an active surgical practice, with the support of the Division and Departments Leadership
- Finally, the faculty member should support the Division commitment to teaching Vascular Fellows, Surgery Residents, and Fellows from in multiple cardiovascular disciplines, as well as VCU Medical Students.



- Board Certification or Eligibility in General Surgery
- Board Certification of Eligibility in Vascular Surgery


- Certification- Eligibility for RPVI (Registered Physician in Vascular Interpretation).
