University of Minnesota Physicians and the Pulmonary, Allergy, Critical Care and Sleep Medicine Division at the University of Minnesota seek a.8 FTENurse Practitioner to join theCystic Fibrosis/Lung Transplant Service at the University of Minnesota Medical Center. The NP works in collaboration with physicians, nurses and administrative staff to provide comprehensive health care and plan of care to cystic fibrosis and lung transplant patients.

Practice Details:

Provide primary care, including general medical and non-medical care, for complex patients with cystic fibrosis, interstitial lung disease, and other advanced lung disease before and after lung transplantation forming diagnostic and therapeutic plans independently or with supervision of pulmonary attending when required.
Collaborate with attending physicians, nurse practitioner, nurse coordinators, consultants and members of the multidisciplinary team.
Provide continuity of care to patients with life-long illness and their families through communication, education and discussions or goals of care.
We havea fully integrated Electronic Medical Record (EPIC).
Inpatient practice at the University of Minnesota Medical Center and possible post-operative and acute care follow-up in the outpatient clinic on campus 1 day/week, dependent on department needs.
Position will be at .8 FTE (64 hours/pay period) and consists of weekday and weekend shifts per pay period.

Position Qualifications:

A qualified candidate will be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing and formal Adult Nurse Practitioner training program. Have a current MNAPRN license and be approved or eligible by the Minnesota Board of Nursing for prescription writing privileges. Be certified through ANCC/AANP or eligible for ANCC/AANP national exam and meet threshold criteria/qualifications for Credentialing and Privileges.

Preferred Qualifications:

Previous inpatient, critical care management experience is preferred. Knowledge of chronic pulmonary illness management desired. Experience in Cystic Fibrosis, Lung Transplantation or Pulmonary Disease or related area highly preferred.
