- Position Summary

The Medical Director for MaineHealths Employee Health Service. The incumbent also provides consultative support and training on medical aspects of occupational health and safety, workers compensation, disability, and employee health improvement. The position offers the MaineHealth system an integrated medical framework from which to improve the health, safety, and productivity of system employees. The position reports directly to the Senior Director, Employee Absence Management Health Services

- Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

Current unrestricted State Medical License as MD/DO, licensed to practice in Maine required.

- Unrestricted Federal and State DEA licensure.

- Seven or more years experience as an occupational health provider required.

- Occupational medicine board certification or board eligible required.

- Masters degree in public health (MPH) preferred.

- MRO (Medical Review Officer) certification preferred.

- Credentialed or eligible for credentialing at Maine Medical Center required.

- Strong understanding of Maine workers compensation regulations, processes and procedures required.

- Familiarity with occupational health policy and the evolving regulatory environment required.

- Demonstrated leadership in the area of occupational health and wellness required.

- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including oral presentation and written communications, required.

- Ability to work with minimal supervision or direction required.

- Proficiency in oral and written English required.

- Proficiency in Microsoft word required. Proficiencies in other Microsoft applications and web-based programs preferred.

- Ability to travel frequently on a local and/or statewide basis required.
