The Neonatal Nurse Practitioner Shift practices in an expanded role to provide health care to infants requiring a variety of levels of care. The Neonatal Nurse Practitioner performs and directs life saving measures as outlined in NRP. The Neonatal Nurse Practitioner perform higher level management that may include initiation and management of: various ventilation techniques, INO, participation in and management of ECMO (heart lung bypass machine). The Neonatal Nurse Practitioner attend high risk deliveries, initiate and maintain centrally placed catheters (arterial and/or venous), provide critical care management through assessment, diagnosis and treatment of acute and chronic illnesses to a variety of patients, including extremely premature infants. The Neonatal NP will provide a high level of quality and service to the patients of College Station at our state of the art Hospital and NICU.
Position Information
- Level III NICU with 11 beds and can flex to 16 beds
- Team consists of 2 Neonatologists and 2 Neonatal NP's
- 24 hour shifts
- Admissions have grown from 75 in 2013 to 204 in 2015
- Affiliation with our flagship hospital in Temple, TX
