Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist

The Department of Psychiatry atVirginia Commonwealth University is recruiting a Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist with academic and public psychiatry career interests. This position provides a unique opportunity to work with specialties in the Childrens Hospital of Richmond (CHoR) and at the Virginia Treatment Center for Childrens (VTCC).The focus of this position is on consultation and liaison services to Pediatrics as well as psychiatric care for patients in both outpatient and some rotational inpatient settings.

In the Fall of 2017, the VTCC is re-locating to a new facility with licensed beds expanding to 32 and outpatient space tripling its volume capacity.

- Provide psychiatric assessment , monitoring and therapy to children and adolescents

- 70% Consult Liaison responsibilities with pediatricians, parents, schools and other community team members
- 20% Additional training and staff consultation/liaison to the Department of Pediatrics and the Pediatric Emergency Departmentat VCU Children's Hospital of Richmond (CHoR)
- Some rotational inpatient coverage at the Virginia Treatment Center for Children (VTCC)
- Treating a population which includes patients with developmental/ intellectual disabilities, autism spectrum and co-morbid medical and mental health disorders in a community setting and through Telepsychiatry
- Teach public Child Adolescent Psychiatry to medical students, NP's and graduate trainees

- Attend Grand Rounds and participate in CME activities

- BE/BC Child and Adolescent Psychiatry
- Experience with Tele-psychiatry preferred
