Department of Orthopaedic Surgery

The Department is recruiting a full time fellowship trained surgeon in Orthopaedic Shoulder/Elbow.

Virginia Commonwealth University Department of Orthopaedic Surgery has been recently ranked among the Nations Top 50 Hospitals for Orthopaedic Care in U.S. News World Report and is the major trauma center for Central Virginia.

- Co-manage patients on other services, triage medicine patients requiring admission in the ED and non-medical services
- Admit and manage patients who present through the should/elbow service
- Orchestrate colleagues to assure coverage 24-hours a day, 365 days a year
- Staff inpatient housestaff teaching service
- Teach and mentor Residents and Fellows
- Develop Orthopaedic faculty with interest in new technologies
- Participate in clinical and administrative research

- MD degree and ABOS eligibility of certification in Orthopaedic Surgery
- Must have successfully completed an accredited fellowship program in shoulder/elbow orthopaedics
- A solid understanding of the adult reconstruction role
- Interest in teaching and growth in an academic setting
