Practice Specifics

Abbott Northwestern is the largest not-for-profit hospital in the Twin Cities area. Each year, the hospital provides comprehensive health care for more than 200,000 patients and their families from the Twin Cities area and throughout the Upper Midwest.

This well-established Hospitalist Service consists of 57 physicians including 8 Med/Peds physicians covering both Abbott Northwestern Hospital and Minneapolis Children's.

An established, award-winning Electronic Medical Record is utilized.

Responsibilities/Clinical Responsibilities

Provides direct patient care for clinical patients for designated specialty
Functions appropriately as part of care delivery team through efficient use of resources and skills, both their own and those of other provider and staff
Chart in electronic format in accordance with licensure and scope
Actively participates in multidisciplinary team approach to case management
Quality improvement utilizes quality improvement tools to develop processes that promote continuous improvement in delivery of patient care, patient outcomes or workflows
Leadership Responsibilities

This position will have system wide oversight for the Medical Spine Program as part of the overall Spine Clinical Service line of Allina Health
The position will be the Medical Director of the Courage Kenny Spine Centers and work collaboratively with the providers within our 8 locations
This position will report into the Medical Director of the Spine clinical service line and form a dyad relationship with the operations manager of the spine centers
Education

This position requires a Medical Doctorate degree (M.D.), Doctor of Osteopathy (D.O.) or foreign equivalent from an approved school of medicine.
PM&R Residency preferred
Interventional Spine or Pain Fellowship preferred
Qualification/Skills

Experience

Must have demonstrated experience and passion in comprehensive spine care
Must have demonstrated leadership experience
Licensure and Certification

Must have current, unrestricted Minnesota State Medical Licensure
Must be board certified or be eligible for board certification within designated specialty
Work Schedule Additional Position Details

Monday through Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm
