The Nurse Practitioner (NP), under the direction of the Medical Director/Supervising Physician and/or the Nurse Manager, is a Registered Nurse who possesses additional clinical and didactic education to function at an advanced level of nursing practice. He/she will be clinically competent in physical diagnosis, psychosocial assessment and management of health-illness needs to provide direct patient care and education to patients, families, students, and nursing staff. The NP consistently demonstrates the core values of Enloe Medical Center and serves as a role model to other employees.
EDUCATION / TRAINING / EXPERIENCE:
Masters Degree in Nursing (MSN) from an accredited College or University
Recent experience appropriate to the care of psychiatric patients in either an outpatient or inpatient setting
Bilingual in Spanish
LICENSES / CERTIFICATIONS:
Current licensure as a Registered Nurse with the California Board of Registered Nursing
Current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner with the California Board of Registered Nursing
Current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner Furnisher with the California Board of Registered Nursing
Current CPR recognition
Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) number or proof of application
Meets Centers for Medical & Medicaid Services (CMS) criteria to bill Medicare
Credentialed through the Enloe Medical Staff office and Finance Office
National Certification as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner
SKILLS / KNOWLEDGE / ABILITIES:
Must have the confidence and experience to work independently with diverse patient populations and experience in accessing specialty referrals and community resources. Must have the ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally. Must have the ability to lead, motivate, delegate, analyze information and problem solve. Behavior should be reflective of Enloe Medical Center core values.
