St. Elizabeths Medical Center seeks an experienced community-involved Psychiatry Residency Training Program Director to lead a unique community- engaged psychiatry residency program. St. Elizabeths Medical Center is a primary teaching affiliate for Tufts University School of Medicine. The Psychiatry residency program was initially accredited in 1953 and graduates 5 residents per year. 3rd and 4th year medical students from Tufts University School of Medicine and Boston University School of Medicine rotate on the psychiatry services at St. Elizabeths Medical Center. This leadership role involves administration of the Psychiatry residency program and maintenance of a learning environment conducive to education the residents in each of the ACGME competencies. This includes a combination of direct teaching, participation in scholarly activity, curriculum design, assessment of faculty, resident and medical student performance, and developing needs assessments to ensure continuous improvement of the program.


Candidates must have an MD or DO degree
Completion of an ACGME Accredited Psychiatry residency
Current board certification by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.
Three years of experience as a member of a teaching faculty or as an educational administrative leader
Have a strong track record of scholarship

This position includes a primary faculty appointment option at Tufts University School of Medicine with adjunct options possible. St. Elizabeths is located in the Brighton neighborhood of Boston, near some of Bostons major universities. The hospital serves a diverse patient population from the Boston area and beyond. St. Elizabeths Behavioral Health offers a full range of treatment services, including three adult units, a Geriatric Psychiatry Unit, an Outpatient Clinic, and Partial Hospitalization program.
