Physician Assistant needed to join this newly formed Vascular & Wound Center!

JOB SUMMARY: Physician Assistant

The physician assistant coordinates the care for adult vascular patients as related to pre- and post-operative procedure. This care includes evaluations, education, treatment and follow-up, using an organized multi-disciplinary team approach to provide continuity of care throughout the continuum. The incumbent also participates in clinical effectiveness/ and community outreach activities. Population served includes adults, adolescents and geriatrics. The incumbent will also provide outreach services in network critical access hospitals. The physician assistant will comply with national standards of practice as well as State mandated scope of practice. He or she will work under the supervision of the Director of Mercy Vascular and Wound Center.


Graduate of a CAHEA approved Physician Assistant training program is required. Successful completion of certification. Current licensure in the state of Iowa as a Physician Assistant. Demonstrated competency as a Physician Assistant through previous experience is preferred. Must be certified in CPR and ACLS. Knowledge of current vascular medical practice as it relates to vascular screening, treatment, and CV surgery and knowledge of adult educational planning, implementation and evaluation.
