Job Description

The VA Southern Nevada Healthcare System, Las Vegas Nevada, Surgical Care Line is currently seeking full time BE/BC Urologists. The Urologist will admit and treat patients presenting with illness or injury to the genitourinary tract, including the genitalia, bladder, prostate and kidneys. Extensive knowledge of the diagnosis, prevention and medical/surgical therapy of urologic diseases is a requirement of this position. Although primary emphasis of position will be in general urology, candidate physician should be educated and experienced in the use of new or latest urological technological, investigative, and therapeutic methods. Preferred Experience: Board Certified/Board Eligible in Urology with preference given to candidates with competence in performing other advanced robotic/laparoscopic and oncologic urologic procedures

Other services provided by VASNHS include a 20-bed inpatient psychiatric treatment ward that opened on April 15, 2013. Several outpatient services are available at the Medical Center. Services provided by VASNHS continue to expand to meet the demands of the dynamic growth.

The physician will require participation in on-call coverage rotation with other physicians on regular basis for the inpatient settings (if applicable) and will also work off-hour shifts, week-ends and holidays as priorities demonstrate a need. Applicant's education and experience will be reviewed by a Professional Standards Board (PSB) and Compensation Panel in determining the grade and salary of the applicant selected.

Requirements & Expectations:

Board Certified or Board Eligible in Urology
Experience and skills in Endoscopy, laparoscopy (diagnostic and therapeutic), and open surgery form treatment of
conditions affecting the urogenital system, alone or within the frame of multi-disciplinary surgical management
Citizenship of the United States. Noncitizens may be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens
in accordance with Department of Veterans Affairs policy.
Current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of
the United States, or in the District of Columbia.
Proficiency in spoken and written English.
