Job Description

Wilkes-Barre General Hospital is seeking a BC/BEAdult and/or Geriatric Psychiatristto provide inpatient consults at the Crisis Response and Recovery Center.

Located at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital, this unique program offers a single point of access for anyone experiencing emotional or psychiatric crises. The Center is the first of its kind in our region and provides immediate triage, intervention and stabilization for individuals or families in crisis. It is available 24-hours-a-day, 7-days-a-week. The Center imbues a recovery orientation and is specifically designed to meet the needs of those who suffer from emotional or behavioral conditions, and offers an alternative to the Emergency Department or hospitalization. An individual or referring agency can access the Center by phone (570) 855-600-NEPA (6372)or walk-in. Immediate assessment, brief intensive treatment, and referral services are provided.

Conveniently situated in the tri-state area, Wilkes-Barre offers easy access to highways and airports. Wilkes-Barre is only hours away from major cities like New York, Baltimore and Philadelphia.
