The Section of Pediatric Ophthalmology at Helen DeVos Childrens Hospital is recruiting a full-time Pediatric Ophthalmologist to their established and thriving practice. This new partner will be AAPOS fellowship trained in pediatric ophthalmology and strabismus. The new partner will enjoy working in a practice that is fast paced and has an aggressive five year growth plan. This person will be a quality and safety driven individual and will be key in the continued expansion of the program. This position demands efficiency in work flow as well as the ability to blend clinical time with continued program development. As the prime pediatric clinical academic partner of Michigan State University College of Human Medicine, Helen DeVos Childrens Hospital offers teaching opportunities and academic appointments for qualified candidates. The physicians in the practice are members of The Spectrum Health Medical Group, a growing, physician-led, multispecialty practice. For more information, visit and The Pediatric Ophthalmology team currently includes two pediatric ophthalmologists, one Orthoptist, and six ophthalmic techs. The growth plan includes hiring of two more Orthoptists, a pediatric optometrist, two additional pediatric ophthalmologists and four more ophthalmic techs within the next five years. The pediatric ophthalmology office is located directly across the street from the childrens hospital and dedicated pediatric operating rooms. With a catchment area of over one million people, the providers see a high volume of patients with a variety of routine and complex ophthalmic issues. The practice also has an on-site optical shop for patient and family convenience. The 236-bed free standing Helen DeVos Childrens Hospital opened in January, 2011, and is a regional Quaternary referral center.
