Lexington Cardiovascular Surgery, a Lexington Medical Center physician practice, is seeking an experienced cardiothoracic surgeon to join its team. The position requires an American Board of Thoracic Surgery-certified surgeon with experience and demonstrated excellence in thoracic and cardiovascular surgery. The program emphasizes the areas of adult ischemic coronary disease, valvular disease, acquired coronary disease and aortic disease, as well as transcatheter aortic valve replacement procedures and thoracic surgeries.
Lexington Medical Centers heart program is one of six Duke Medicineaffiliated programs nationally. Since its inception in 2012, the surgeons of Lexington Cardiovascular Surgery have performed more than 600 cases and continue to meet the American College of Cardiology gold standard. In 2014, Lexington Medical Center began a robust structural heart program co-led by its cardiothoracic surgeons and fellowship-trained structural interventional cardiologist. The program was the first in the state to perform awake TAVR procedures and successfully performed more than 60 cases in its first year.
Lexington Medical Center is a 438-bed acute care hospital network in West Columbia, South Carolina. The network includes six community medical centers, an occupational health facility, the largest nursing home in the Carolinas, an Alzheimer's care center and 77 physician practices with 338 employed physicians.
