General Introduction

Skaggs Regional Medical Center is a 165-bed community-owned and supported healthcare facility dedicated to improving the wellness of all area residents and visitors.
Skaggs holds the highest national accreditation available for medical facilities from the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations. Many of Skaggs' departments also hold other national accreditations indicating their high quality and technical expertise.
Prompted by the area's tremendous population growth and the nearly 8 million tourists who visit the area each year, Skaggs has continually added new facilities and services to meet health care demand and to fulfill our mission of improving lives through health and wellness.
Currently, more than 180 physicians representing nearly 40 specialty areas comprise Skaggs medical staff and Physician Hospital Organization.
Skaggs Regional Medical Center has been recognized as one of the Top 10 non-teaching hospitals in Missouri for quality of care, as one of the nation's Most Wired hospitals in its category, and as a 100 Top Orthopedic Hospital. The healthcare team of Skaggs Regional Medical Center is the only healthcare team in Southwest Missouri to receive the prestigious 2008 Healthgrades Distinguished Hospital Award for Excellence.
