Summit Medical Group is the largest and most far-reaching physician owned and governed organization providing primary care in the East Tennessee region. We are located in 14 counties and have 56 outpatient practice sites.
235 Summit physicians provide healthcare services to over 269,000 patients and families a year. Summit operates one of the largest hospitalist programs in the nation which includes over 75 hospitalists and pulmonary/critical care physicians, 24/7 coverage and 5 long-term care facilities.
Summit also has 1 Central Lab (6.35 Million lab tests run annually), 3 Express Clinics, 4 Diagnostic & Imaging Centers, 7 Physical Therapy Centers, 1 Rheumatology office and 1 Sleep Service Center. Our ancillary service centers feature MRIs, DEXAs, Echos, pulmonary function tests, mammograms, etc.
Summit is nationally ranked in the top 10 nationwide for all three categories of NCQA recognition. We are also a top national performer in overall patient experience, according to patient surveys conducted. SMG scored in the top 10 percent among healthcare providers nationwide that use Survey Vitals. The top national performer designation is significant because its an honor we earned through direct feedback from our patients across East Tennessee, Summit Medical Group CEO Ed Curtis said. About the Community

We are also only a 2 1/2 hour drive to the large cities of Atlanta and Nashville; Make a day trip out of it! You can also drive an hour south to Chattanooga and enjoy Ruby Falls or Lookout Mountain.
