Mercy Health Physician Partners (MHPP) has an excellent Full Time (0.9 FTE) employment opportunity for a Board Certified or Board Eligible Neurology physician with an interest in Parkinson/Movement Disorder to join an existing group practice located in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

The right Neurology physician will be responsible for developing new care models for Parkinson's disease and movement disorders for the system. Additional responsibilities of this opportunity include organizing and chairing the weekly or monthly interdisciplinary Deep Brain Stimulation and other clinical, administrative, and research meetings; participation in department quality assurance activities and carrying out medical record reviews and assist risk management, as needed. The Neurologist will also have the opportunity to carry-out clinical research, mentor residents and medical students while participating in resident teaching programs.

The Hauenstein Neurosciences Center, led by Philip B. Gorelick, MD, MPH, is recognized by the National Association of Epilepsy Centers as a Level 4 epilepsy center. Our center is one of only four comprehensive centers in Michigan; and the only comprehensive epilepsy program in West Michigan.

The Hauenstein Neurosciences Center exists to provide effective diagnosis and comprehensive treatment of complex neurological disorders. Here, patients have access to the largest and most experienced team of nationally-recognized neurological experts in West Michigan fellowship-trained physicians specializing in the areas of epilepsy, spine and brain disorders, Parkinsons disease, Alzheimer's disease, sleep disorders, stroke, dementia and overall nervous system care.

MHSM has the only Parkinsons program in West Michigan and is the only hospital in the Midwest to administer the DaTscan, a new scanning procedure that helps confirm a diagnosis of Parkinsons disease.
