Are You a Physician with Experience in Hospice and Palliative Care?

We have great opportunity at JourneyCare's state-of-art Inpatient Center in Chicago @ Rush University Medical Center

JourneyCarethe Chicagoland regions leading nonprofit palliative, supportive, and end-of-life agency, serving nearly 3,000 patients dailyis seeking a full-time hospice and palliative care physician for our state-of-the-art Chicago inpatient center at RUSH University Medical Center located at 1653 W. Congress Parkway, Chicago, Illinois 60612.

The ideal physician candidate is comfortable with inpatient and outpatient settings, a licensed M.D. or D.O. in the state of Illinois, and is board certified in Hospice & Palliative Medicine or as a Certified Hospice Medical Director. Experienced Physician in Family Medicine, Geriatrics or Oncology will also be considered.

Our physicians serve
In direct patient care in our five state-of-the-art inpatient hospice CareCenters located in Chicago, Barrington, Glenview, Woodstock and Arlington Heights
As medical directors for our hospice teams who collectively serve more than 3,000 palliative and hospice care patientsincluding the largest pediatric hospice program in Illinois
As faculty and preceptors for area Fellowships in Palliative Medicine as well as for area medical, nursing, and physician Assistant training programs
As palliative medicine consultants in the community as well as with our Joint Commission certified inpatient services at Northwest Community and Northwestern Lake Forest Hospital
As leaders in the field of hospice & palliative medicine locally, regionally, and nationally

Advanced medical degree required
Licensed M.D. or D.O. in the state of Illinois
Board certified in Hospice & Palliative Medicine or Certified Hospice Medical Director preferred and will also consider Physician with Family Medicine, Geriatrics or Oncology experience
Controlled substance license with current DEA license number
Eligible or currently possess a Medicare/ Medicaid provider number
Experience in HPM practice and leadership preferred but on the job education & training provided
