Overview

This position is responsible for the evaluation and treatment of occupational medicine-related injuries and illness within the scope of practice of a Nurse Practitioner and in collaboration with The Doctors Clinic Physicians.


QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
-High school diploma or equivalent.
-Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing and an accredited Masters level Nurse Practitioner Program.

Certification/Licensure:
-Current licensure in Washington state as an ARNP with prescriptive authority.
-Current national licensure with the American Nurse Credentialing Center (ANCC) as a Nurse Practitioner.
-Maintain CPR certification for Health Care Providers.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
-Manage and provide care for patients presenting with common and episodic problems and provide on-going care for stable patients with chronic disorders. Also manage specialty care within providers area of expertise.
-Evaluate patients health status by performing an appropriate history and physical exam, including psychological and psychosocial assessment. Request and/or perform diagnostic tests and interpret the results.
-Develop and implement a health care plan, including prescribing medications (as permitted by licensure), treatments, and prevention measures, providing education, counseling, and monitoring of progress.
-Counsel and advise patients and families concerning health maintenance needs, promotion, behavior modification, and management of health care problems. Make referrals to internal and external resources as appropriate.
-Document pertinent information in patients medical record.
-Consult appropriately with physician(s) and other health professionals regarding patient status. Ensure physician is kept informed of any unusual or significant findings.
-Performs other duties as may be assigned consistent with professional credentials.
