The Department of Family and Community Medicine has an exciting opportunity for an experienced and dynamic Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) to deliver family-focused care from health promotion and disease prevention to direct care and counseling across the lifespan in their ambulatory clinic setting. The role of the FNP in the clinic will be both clinical and nonclinical with the nonclinical role focusing on improving population health and quality improvement measurements within the clinic. The clinical responsibilities of the FNP will be to provide comprehensive primary and urgent care to include but not limited to preventative health, chronic care management and mental health services. The ideal FNP will be comfortable providing care to patients from infancy to late adulthood.

Duties include:

Developing treatment plans for acute and chronic disease; Educating and guiding patients on disease prevention and healthy lifestyle habits
Understanding the changes in health promotion throughout the aging process
Conducting exams
Performing diagnostic tests and screening evaluations
Managing overall patient care regarding lifestyle and development issues
Emphasizing preventative care and disease management
Prescribing medications
Review and monitor specific population health measures identified by the clinic.
Development of efficiency protocols to improve population health and quality improvement measures.


Qualified applicants will possess: Master's degree with completion of a primary care Nurse Practitioner program; current Maryland RN licensure or eligibility to obtain Maryland licensure
3-5 years of experience as a Nurse Practitioner
