The Section of Vascular and Endovascular Surgery at Maine Medical Center is seeking a fellowship-trained Vascular Surgeon to join their well-established practice of 6 vascular surgeons located in Portland, Maine. The candidate must be Board Certified in Vascular Surgery. The group provides comprehensive, state-of-the-art, open and endovascular care for the people of the state of Maine.
Maine Medical Center (MMC) has 637 licensed beds and is the states leading tertiary care hospital with a full complement of residencies and fellowships and an integral part of Tufts University Medical School. MMC currently supports over 240 residents and fellows in 14 residencies and 9 fellowships approved by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education . The selected candidate will have an academic appointment at Tufts University School of Medicine. The position involves teaching and mentoring both vascular surgery integrated residents, general surgery residents and TUFTS medical students.
Research opportunities are encouraged and readily available through the Center for Outcomes Research and Evaluation, the COBRE program at Maine Medical Research Institute, and through our participation as a founding member of the Vascular Study Group of New England. The division participates in clinical trials and has been selected as a site for an upcoming EVAR trial. Currently most endovascular work is performed in an endovascular suite in the OR.
