Orthopedic Hand Surgeon
Maine Medical Partners Orthopedics is seeking a Board Certified/Eligible Orthopedic hand surgeon to join our orthopedic group of 12 surgeons and 5 non-operative sports medicine physicians. The ideal candidate would have Fellowship training in Orthopedic Hand Surgery.
Maine Medical Partners Orthopedics is a multi-disciplinary team of surgeons, physician assistants, nurse practitioners and administrative staff committed to providing high quality medical and surgical care to patients of all ages. The Orthopedics Department is comprised of a surgical team of 7 surgeons within the Joint Replacements Division, the leading team within The Joint Replacement Center at Maine Medical Center ; 3 Traumatologists within the Trauma and Fracture Care Division who are members of Maine Medical Centers Level One Trauma Program; and 2 surgeons in the Sports Medicine Division . Additionally, there are 5 non-operative Sports Medicine physicians in the Department.
A Medicare study placed Maine Medical Center (MMC) among the top 1 percent of hospitals in a national survey for its quality of care on both hip and knee replacement surgeries, as measured by patient readmissions and complications. The surgeons at Maine Medical Partners perform more than 2,200 joint replacement surgeries, 1,300 trauma surgeries, and 780 sports medicine procedures.
Maine Medical Center has 637 licensed beds and is the states leading tertiary hospital and Level One Trauma Center, with a full complement of residencies and fellowships and is an integral part of the Tufts University Medical School. The successful candidate would have an academic appointment at Tufts University School of Medicine.
The successful candidate will be employed by Maine Medical Partners (MMP), a subsidiary of Maine Medical Center and Maines largest multi-specialty group. MMP serves the health care needs of patients throughout Maine and Northern New England. This high quality team of more than 500 physicians and 200 advanced practice professionals provide a wide range of hospital based, primary, specialty, and sub-specialty adult and pediatric care delivered throughout a network of 30 locations across the State and acts as a regional referral network.
