Specialty: Wound Healing & Hyperbaric Medicine

Practice Scope: Wound care (clinic and inpatient-based), consults and supervision of dives/treatments, in collaboration with advanced practice providers, wound care nurses and certified hyperbaric technicians and other members of the multi-disciplinary care team.

Status: 1.0 Full-Time Equivalent (FTE)

Requirements: Individual with a doctor of medicine (MD) or a doctor of osteopathy (DO) degree (MD/DO); successful completion of ACGME/AOA accredited residency training program and either current specialty board certification by ABMS or AOA or active participation in the examination process leading to certification by a specific specialty board. Subspecialty certification in hyperbaric medicine is preferred. Individual must have current ACLS certificate and a current, unrestricted full license in Idaho and Oregon (or be eligible for an Oregon license which is a requirement of the position) to practice medicine in all its phases; valid controlled substance registration with Idaho and Oregon Boards of Pharmacy and DEA. Privileges include the ability to consult, work-up, diagnose and provide treatment to patients of all ages, presenting for management in wound and hyperbarics. Privileges for hyperbaric oxygen therapy require completion of UHMS or ACHM approved training. Hyperbaric services include treatment of approved indications as outlined by the Undersea and Hyperbaric Medical Society (UHMS). Must be comfortable supervising and working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary care team of providers to include advanced practice providers (in clinical setting where APPs supervise hyperbaric treatments) and safety directors who provide final approval for hyperbaric treatment. Further, must provide pre- and post-treatment physical assessments of patients. Provider is required to remain on campus for duration of all hyperbaric treatments.

Work Schedule: Traditional clinic work week, Monday through Friday, no less than 34 hours of scheduled patient contact time (assumes 1.0 FTE)

Call: Inpatients are generally triaged by the inpatient wound nurses and covered by the hospitalist services. No emergency hyperbaric services are offered within Saint Alphonsus to emergency department patients. Call will be an expectation in the near future for afterhours outpatient clinic needs and hyperbaric procedures.

EMR/EHR: Primarily paper charting with phone dictation system (Escription); periodic use of Inpatient EHR/CPOE (Cerner PowerChart) and WebEx applications. Outpatient Wound practices will use Athena as our EHR by summer 2018.

Saint Alphonsus Medical Group (SAMG) is a physician led and accountable 400+ provider multispecialty group practice that has an excellent opportunity for a residency-trained physician (MD/DO) to join a rapidly expanding Wound Care and Hyperbaric Medicine program (both locally and to outlying areas). You will provide services for a full spectrum of wound care patients at Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center (SARMC) and across Saint Alphonsus Health System (SAHS). SARMC is a leading provider of advanced, innovative and interdisciplinary wound care services within the region, offering the most advanced treatment for wound care through the use of LUNA technology fluorescence microangiography, wound dressing options, off-loading/compression, monoplace chamber hyperbaric services and telemedicine.

Requirements include a strong clinical practice; experiential background and/or sub-specialty fellowship training; a sincere desire to provide excellent patient care in a clinic-based practice environment managing the treatment of patients with chronic/acute wounds, edema/lymphedema and hyperbaric medicine needs. This will include intermittent robotic telemedicine consultations and in onsite consultation with a SAMG plastics/reconstructive surgeon, orthopedic surgeons and other specialties on the SARMC medical staff. The opportunity also requires the granting of privileges at SARMC, SAMC-N, SAMC-O and SAMC- BC
