The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) School of Medicine and newly established clinical entity, UTHealth Rio Grande Valley offer unique leadership opportunities under the direction of its new Dean Dr. John Krouse, MD, PHD, MBA and new Founding Chair of Internal Medicine Dr. Andrew Dentino, MD. For mid-career and senior faculty, GME Program Directors are sought in all internal medicine subspecialties. Candidates must be an MD, DO or have an equivalent degree from an accredited institution and have or be eligible for a Texas medical license. Board Certification in Internal Medicine and Sub-specialty is required and experience in a GME Accredited Position or Program. Academic rank and salary will be awarded commensurate with experience and academic credentials.

The UTRGV School of Medicine, established in 2015 and located in the heart of the Rio Grande Valley of Texas, has a focus toward community health. The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley School of Medicine (UTRGV SOM) received preliminary accreditation in October 2015 with first class matriculating in July 2016. UTRGV SOM is comprised of faculty in the following departments: Family and Community Medicine, Internal Medicine, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Psychiatry and Neurology, Surgery, Pediatrics, Medical Education, Biomedical Sciences, Population Health and Behavioral Sciences and the South Texas Diabetes and Obesity Institute.
