The newly established UTHealth Rio Grande Valley seeks a board-certified Preventive Medicine physician to assist in coordination, development and successful implementation of the Preventive Medicine residency that began with 2 residents in July 2017. The programs goals are to inculcate trainees in the core competencies of general preventive medicine and health promotion, promote health and wellness in vulnerable populations and reduce preventable health disparities.Academic appointment will be in the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley School of Medicine Department of Pediatrics and Preventive Medicine.

Candidate must have an MD, DO or equivalent degree from an accredited institution, and can be licensed in the State of Texas. Must also possess or be able to obtain appropriate medical staff appointment.Completion of ACGME approved Residency in Preventive Medicine and board certification in Preventive Medicine. Experience teaching in Preventive Medicine Residency is a plus. Academic rank will be awarded commensurate with academic credentials and qualifications.
