Fellowship Trained Surgeon


The Department of Orthopaedic Surgery is seeking a full time Trauma Surgeon to become an integral part of our active clinical and basic science program. Successful candidate will join our service which includes two current Faculty members, one Fellow and two Residents.


Responsibilities:
- Admit and manage care for patients on the Orthopaedic Trauma service

- Co-manage patients on other services, triage medicine patients requiring admission in the ED and non-medical services
- Orchestrate colleagues to assure coverage 24-hours a day, 365 days a year
- Staff inpatient housestaff teaching service
- Promote evidence-based practice
- Teach and mentor Residents and Fellows
- Develop Orthopaedic faculty with interest in new technologies
- Participate in clinical and administrative research


Qualifications:
- B/C Orthopaedic Surgery
- Completed an accredited fellowship program in Orthopaedic Trauma Medicine
- Direct experience managing complex cases
- Competence in standard inpatient procedures
- Solid understanding of the Traumatologist's role
- Demonstrated ability to work as a leader of a team
- Interest in furthering research missions of the Department
