Description: WellStars Behavioral Health Service Line (BHSL) and Psychological Services practice is pleased to announce an opening for a Pediatric Neuropsychologist in Marietta, Georgia. This is a full-time position, reporting to WellStars Director of Psychology. The provider will work closely with WellStar neurologists and pediatricians to bolster access to important diagnostic services for children and adolescents with a myriad of neurological disorders, neuro-developmental problems (e.g. ADHD and learning disabilities), and other conditions that may impact cognitive, emotional, and behavioral functioning.

Skills Needed: Required skills include the ability to apply evidence-based practice and knowledge in pediatric neuropsychology to a diverse population. Applicants should have a robust understanding of brain-behavioral relationships, possess a repertoire of neuropsychological testing techniques appropriate to the population, and have the ability to integrate their knowledge and skills to meet the needs of patient and their families. The provider should have the skills to translate clinical findings and ensure appropriate accommodations to optimize their patients functioning in academic and other settings.

Setting: WellStar Health System is an 11-hospital system, recognized as the 5th most integrated health system in the United States, and is the largest health system in Georgia. WellStar is a member of the Mayo Clinic Network. This opening for a Pediatric Neuropsychologist is a new position residing in an outpatient practice setting, and serving the population in our east Cobb County, Georgia location. The Pediatric Neuropsychologist will have operational support through the WellStar Medical Group, and access to a full-time psychometrist to support the provider in test administration and other clinical capacities.

Required Minimum Education: (1) a doctorate degree (Ph.D./Psy.D.) in clinical or counseling psychology from a program accredited by the American Psychological Association (APA), (2) completion of an APA-accredited internship in a pediatric setting, (3) completion of a 1- or 2-year post-doctoral fellowship with concentration in pediatric neuropsychology; and (4) licensure or license-eligibility in the State of Georgia. Whereas active board-certification in Clinical Neuropsychology (ABCN) is not required at the time of hire, the provider should take steps to obtain the ABCN within 24 months of the date of hire.
