Cuyuna Regional Medical Center is looking for a patient and understanding psychiatrist with a strong desire to help people and improve their daily lives. As a psychiatrist, you will evaluate, monitor, and diagnose patients to determine treatment and recovery plans. You will counsel patients, write prescriptions, and monitor patients progress, while being compassionate and sensitive to their needs and concerns. You will also work with patients primary physicians and/ or social workers to continue recovery after treatment.

Psychiatrist Duties and Responsibilities
Evaluate patient through conversations, interviews, and observations
Administer patient tests or request testing/lab work; analyze patient data and results
Diagnose patient with correct psychological, emotional, or behavioral disorder
Collaborate with patients physicians and other medical staff to determine treatment
Set patients goals and discuss treatment plans
Establish timelines, tasks, and medical needs of patient
Analyze the best medications or therapy to help patient reach goal
Prescribe medications and monitor patient intake
Document patient records and progress, including symptoms, medications, and treatments
Counsel patient and listen to their reactions to treatment
Provide patient with emotional tools and methods for recovery
Educate patient, patients family, significant others, and relevant parties of patients progress, treatment, and future goals
Conduct research to better serve patients

Psychiatrist Requirements and Qualifications
Bachelors degree in biology, pre-med, physical sciences, psychology, or related field
Special Interest in Pain & Bariatric a plus
Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO)
Successful completion of U.S. Medical Licensing Examination (USMLE) or Comprehensive Osteopathic Medical

Licensing Examination (COMLEX-USA)
Certification by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology; local state regulations and certifications,
Continuing Medical Education (CME), and Joint Commission for Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations requirements must be met
Four-year psychiatric residency
Participation in further medical education and professional organization memberships are preferred
Familiar with EPIC our EMR system
Able to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Great interpersonal relations, communications, and demeanor
