Weekend Psychiatrist to cover inpatient units at Hartford Hospital's Institute of Living

Saturday and Sunday Day Shifts

The Institute of Living, located in Hartford, Connecticut was one of the first mental health centers in the United States. It remains one of America's leading institutions for comprehensive patient care, extensive research and education in the fields of behavioral, psychiatric and addiction disorders.

As part of Hartford HealthCare, the IOL affords the resources and support of the largest integrated HealthCare system in CT and one of the largest behavioral health networks in New England.

Summary of Duties:

Daily psychiatric care of patients on weekend days, including admission evaluations, discharges (discharge summaries will largely be completed by attending physicians)
Medication management including any basic medication issues
Risk assessments
Evaluations for seclusion/restraint

Occasionally the provider may meet with a family member for urgent matters. More complex medical issues will be referred to our medical team.

This position provides coverage on Saturday and Sunday day shifts, 6- 12 hour shifts depending upon number of units covered. Additional overnight coverage during the week may be available if interested.

This position requires a Board Certified Psychiatrist licensed to work in the State of CT.
