Mercy Medical Center, a member of Trinity Health, the nation's second largest non-profit health system, is currently expanding its Pre-Admission Evaluation Unit (PAE). In doing so, we are seeking a full-time Perioperative Nurse Practitioner. Experience is preferred but new Nurse Practitioner graduates with relevant nursing experience will be considered.


Provides daily supervision of the Pre-Admission Testing Evaluation Unit and its staff. Will provide leadership and organization to achieve patient optimization within goal timeframes and possess the ability to continually assess, evaluate, and implement action plans for improved patient flow. Provides perioperative assessments and care for surgical patients. Assesses perioperative labs, EKG's, X-rays, histories and physicals, medication lists and orders follow-up testing, if indicated. Assesses patient readiness needs for preoperative optimization in accordance with ASA guidelines. Openly and effectively communicates with surgeons regarding concerns and/or unacceptable values that may impact the patient's surgical outcomes and ability to work collaboratively with Department of Anesthesia.
