University of Minnesota Physicians seeks a board eligible/board certified Physician Assistant for the University of Minnesota Division of Hematology, Oncology, and Transplantation.

The Certified PA works in collaboration with physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, nurses and administrative staff to provide comprehensive health care and plan of care to adult hematology/oncology (50%) and neuro oncology (50%) patients in the outpatient clinic setting of the Masonic Cancer Center at the University of Minnesota Medical Center in Minneapolis, MN.

In this role, the PA will:

Engage in comprehensive diagnosis and management of complex heme-onc patients in all spectrums of care including chemotherapy, immunotherapy, radiation therapy, and supportive care.
Complete comprehensive histories and physicals of hematology-oncology patients.
Collaborate with attending physicians, consultants and members of the multidisciplinary team.
Initiate orders and implement diagnostic and treatment plans, including intravenous fluids, medications, and transfusions.
Perform minor procedures, including bone marrow aspiration and biospy, lumbar puncture, intrathecal chemotherapy administration and paracentesis.
We have a fully integrated Electronic Medical Record (EPIC)
Schedule details: Monday Friday, Day shift. Occasional evening and weekend
Call Coverage: No call coverage

Position Qualifications:

A qualified candidate will be a graduate of an accredited Physician's Assistant program. Have a current MN PA license with prescriptive authority through the MN Board of Medical Practice. Be certified through NCCPA and meet threshold criteria/qualifications for Credentialing and Privileges. New graduate PAs are eligible to apply.

Preferred Qualifications:

Previous oncology advanced practice experience is preferred.
