Seeking a board certified or board eligible Hematologist/Oncologist with Bone Marrow Transplant training to join our group of 2 employed hematologists at Avera McKennan Hospital & University Health Center. SD only bone marrow transplant program offers world-class care to people across a five-state area! Program established in 2001 and has performed over 500 transplants. In this practice you will provide comprehensive care for people with lymphoma, multiple myeloma, leukemia, myelodysplasias, and those in need of autologous and allogeneic bone marrow transplants. NMDP transplant & apheresis center and FACT accreditation for autologous and allogeneic transplants using both myeloablative and nonmyeloablative protocols. Clinic is located in a beautiful state of the art Cancer Center attached to Avera McKennan Hospital

Clinical faculty appointment with the University of South Dakota School of Medicine are available. National Cancer Institute and commercial clinical trials supported by a team of specialized cancer research coordinators. The physicians are employed by Avera McKennan Hospital and receive a generous compensation and benefit package.

The Avera Cancer Institute is the regions most comprehensive cancer center. The Institute offers state-of-the-art services in one convenient location and is home to 2 hematologists fellowship trained in bone marrow transplantation, 6 hematologist/oncologists, 2 gynecologic oncologists, 2 radiation oncologists, 3 comprehensive breast surgeons and 2 integrative medicine physicians.The program includes a dedicated staff of BMT coordinators and data managers, apheresis nurses and stem cell processing lab technician as well as dedicated inpatient and outpatient pharmacists. We also have 3 specialized infusion centers with one dedicated to hematology and transplant. Patients receive services at an onsite outpatient lab & pharmacy and can take advantage of comprehensive onsite support services such as patient advocates, social workers, art therapy, music therapy, integrative medicine and chaplaincy.
