The Ft Harrison Medical Center is seeking a board certified or board eligible Ophthalmologist to practice general Ophthalmology.

There is no on call with this position, however, Fort Harrison is an inpatient facility so there may be an occasional inpatient consult.

The Ophthalmologist will work as part of the eye care team of VA Montana Health Care System, and will manage the eye care needs of a population with high complexity ocular pathology consisting of cataracts, glaucoma, and retinal and diabetic eye diseases.

Excellent surgical and laser skills are required. Cataract surgery will most commonly be performed, but specialty interest in other surgical procedures that can be performed.

Candidates must possess excellent interpersonal skills and can work in a staff model environment with other physicians serving Veterans.

The Ophthalmologist will follow ophthalmology standards of care and safety policies, and implement opportunities to improve environmental and operational safety per Joint Commission guidelines.
